Message from Mayor Rick Child

Mayor Richard Child

On behalf of the City Council and staff of Springville City, we thank you for being patient and understanding of the precautions we are taking in regard to COVID-19. The events and actions being taken are unike anything we have seen since the flu epidemic of 1918. Then - like now - there was initially no known cure. People were asked to wear gauze masks, stores were not permitted to have discount sales, and funerals were limited to 15 minutes.

In the present, the City has closed facilities in response to recommendations from the federal and state governments. We have been told that if we follow guidelines, we will get through this. Our goal is to keep residents, visitors, and City staff as safe as possible. Our emergency services are strong and ready to respond when needed. We have fresh, clean water. Our power services are second to none. Our staff is ready to keep these vital services up and running.

If you have a true emergency, call 9-1-1. If you are sick, keep your distance from others and see a physician. As much as possible, stay home and protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors. Have patience. Follow recommendations and count your blessings.
