Youth City Council
The Springville Youth City Council is an organization that offers area teens (grades 9 through 11 only) opportunities to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for their community, its citizens and elected officials through service and interaction. This is done through various activities and assignments. This is not a school club or a religious organization. Each member has a tremendous responsibility to uphold their commitment and to attend the meetings and planned activities.
We plan to have a fun, rewarding and learning experience this year. Please understand that the Youth City Council is a prestigious organization and requires your full commitment to attend scheduled meetings and help with service projects and events throughout the year. Youth City Council members will have the opportunity to help with many events in the community, including Art City Days, Bike with the Mayor and World Folk Fest.
All YCC members are required to pay a participation fee of $25. This fee will purchase both a t-shirt and a golf shirt which you will be required to wear to assignments and activities. Even if you have previously been a member of the Youth City Council, you will still need to pay the participation fee and get new shirts this year as the city’s logo has changed. Please be aware that the golf shirts run large. Instructions on fee payment will be sent after applications have been submitted and new council members have been selected.
If you are accepted into the Youth City Council you must have access to an email account, as communication about the Youth City Council will be done through email.
If you have any questions, please call Annette Sorensen, the Youth City Council Advisor, at (801) 921-4090.
