Youth City Council
The Springville Youth City Council is an organization that offers area teens (grades 9 through 11 only) opportunities to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for their community, its citizens and elected officials through service and interaction. This is done through various activities and assignments. This is not a school club or a religious organization. Each member has a tremendous responsibility to uphold their commitment and to attend the meetings and planned activities.
We plan to have a fun, rewarding and learning experience this year. Please understand that the Youth City Council is a prestigious organization and requires your full commitment. A one year commitment is required. There will be one to two meetings a month, depending on the month and holidays. There will be projects, service opportunities and other activities that will require additional time. It is anticipated that your time commitment will be approximately 10 hours or less a month (with the exception of Art City Days).
The cost to participate in the Youth City Council is $30. This fee is for two shirts (a golf shirt and a t-shirt) that you will be required to wear depending on our assignment/activity. Sweatshirts are optional and cost an additional $20. If you have been a member before you do not need to order shirts again unless you want to. Please be aware that the golf shirts run large. More information will be provided once the Youth City Council has been determined.
If you are accepted into the Youth City Council you must have access to an email account, as communication about the Youth City Council will be done through email.
