The Public Works department is dedicated to providing quality support and service to the residents of Springville to ensure their needs and concerns are handled in an efficient and effective manner.
The Public Works department will work with each division within the Public Works department to ensure reliable services are provided to the community in such a manner that citizens can focus on their families and friends without regard to the workings of Public Works.
The Public Works Department consists of four divisions — Water, Streets, Sewer and Engineering.
Water Division — Responsible for maintaining the culinary water system, including meters, wells, chlorination stations and pressure reducing valve stations. They are responsible for maintaining the pressurized irrigation system as well as the water in Bartholomew Pond. They also oversee Plat “A” irrigation and the Highline Ditch.
Streets Division — Responsible for maintaining the roads, curbs, gutters and sidewalks, snow removal, street and traffic signs and residential garbage and recycling services.
Sewer/Storm Water/Waste Water Division — Responsible for maintaining the sewer main pipelines, storm drain pipelines, the waste water treatment plant, the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) and operating and maintaining the yard waste facility.
Engineering Division — Responsible for designing and coordinating capital improvement projects for the City, traffic systems, encroachment/excavation permits, infrastructure inspections, city maps, updating Master Plans and assisting with the development review process.
