LIFEGUARD TRAINING: Registration is currently OPEN until filled. American Red Cross Certification. Upon completing this course, you will be certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR, AED, and First Aid for the professional rescuer. Course prerequisite requires swimming 300 yards non-stop, treading water with no hands for 2 minutes, diving 12 feet for a 10 pound brick with recovery. Attendance at all classes is MANDATORY. Must be at least 15 years old by the final day of class. Cost is $95 plus $35 for additional supplies. (Supplies needed are Lifeguard Training Book, resuscitation mask, and Training First Aid Kit. These materials can be purchased at the pool for an additional $35).
….. April Lifeguard Session is April 18th through 29th – Classes are 3 times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 pm – 8 pm and Saturdays from 8 am – 3 pm.

FIVE SUMMER AQUATIC LESSON SESSIONS: Choose Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4 Swim Lessons and Parent and Me classes to be held in each session, (total of eight 30 minute classes). Sign up for the class level to the best of your judgement. A link to see the swim level descriptions is listed further below.

Semi-Private Lessons: will be held at 8:30 am during each summer session (total of eight 30-minute lessons). Cost is $59. An additional fee of $10 will be added for non-Springville residents.

Group Lessons: each session consists of eight 30-minute lessons. Cost is $47. An additional fee of $10 will be added for non-Springville residents. Class times to choose from:

PARENT AND ME CLASSES: each session consists of eight 30-minute lessons. Cost is $35. An additional fee of $10 will be added for non-Springville residents. Register the child that will be attending this class using your Rec1 account. Class times to choose from:

Youth Water Polo – Season runs July 31st through August 18th (Monday through Friday from 9-10 am). Cost is $40.

Springville Seals Swim Team – Register beginning April 3rd at 6 am for your tryout time (there is no cost to try out). Space is limited. Tryout date is May 6th. Upon completing swim team requirements at the tryout, you can register and pay for the Seals that day.  Springville Seals 2017 Summer Swim Team season is May 30th to July 31st. Cost is $120.

This sign-up is for tryouts only. Please come at the time you sign up for. We are a recreational county league and Seals Team is run to give swimmers a competitive experience. Upon your swimmer meeting the requirements (see below) you will register that morning for the hour you would like your swimmers to swim in during the regular season: 9:00 am, 10:00 am, or 11:00 am. Please be aware that 9:00 am is the most popular hour and its slots fill up first! Seals practice is held for an hour each day Monday through Friday, and swim meets (competitions) are on weekends. The team suits will be available for purchase on the morning of tryouts / registration. The suits will be the only additional cost outside of the registration fee. Registration fee of $120 must be paid on the day of tryouts. This fee covers the coaching for the season, county fees, meet fees, and a T-shirt and latex Seals swim cap. If you are already on the swim team or you can prove that you have been on a swim team in the past, you do not have to try out. The tryout time you sign up for becomes your registration time.

The requirements that need to be met at tryouts are as follows:

  • Swim freestyle (front crawl) continuously for 25 meters
  • Swim backstroke continuously for 25 meters
  • Swimmers need to seem comfortable in the water.
  • We also watch for “meet readiness,” and if we feel that they could swim in a meet the following week they are ready for the team…
  • Ages are 5-18.

Information:     Please sign your child up for the group level you believe that they are according to level criteria found at the end of the Pool Section. Skill assessment and class assignment will be completed during the first 10 minutes on the 1st day of the session that you sign up for. You will be signing up for a lesson session and a lesson time, so please plan accordingly. We cannot give refunds for swimming lessons.

No make-ups will be provided for late or absent students from class. If a make-up day is necessary due to a conflict with the pool, it will be on a Friday during the session and scheduled by the teacher.

SWIM PROGRAMS – No pre-registration required

WATER AEROBICS:
Low Impact Adult Aquatic Body Conditioning
Mon – Thurs Mornings 6:30 am – 7:30 am and 9 am – 10 am
$3.50 drop in per class, or $40 for a 20 punch pass

Adult Swim Lessons: Saturday mornings at 9 am – 10 am. Cost is $40 for a 20 class punch card. Lessons range from beginning swimmers with fear of water, intermediate and advanced  to refinement of strokes for the experienced athletes. Ages 18 and up.

BOY SCOUT MERIT BADGE CERTIFICATION 3.Merit.Badges

All merit badge classes are taught by Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge Counselors. These merit badge courses are offered on the following Saturdays of each month from 10 am – 12 pm. Participants must be comfortable in the water. The cost is $12 per scout for each merit badge clinic, we provide the blue cards. There is no additional fee for non-residents.
SWIMMING Merit Badge or FIRST AID Merit Badge offered on the 1st Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm.
LIFESAVING Merit Badge offered on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm.
