5K Family Virtual Run For Fun

Winners of the random drawings can pick up prizes at the Recreation Office, 443 South 200 East.
In an effort to keep safe and healthy, the race is going virtual this year!
Come together and join us for a unique City wide run to celebrate our community, have fun, enjoy fresh air, and get some great exercise! Participants can register for the 5K at Springville.org by May 28, 2021 to receive a race packet and t-shirt.
Race Registration: $12.00 per participant (April 26 – May 28)
Late Registration: $15.00 per participant (May 29 – June 4—Race Shirts are not guaranteed)
Here’s how it works:
Register online at https://secure.rec1.com/UT/Springville-Recreation/catalog or in person at the Recreation Office (443 South 200 East, Springville).
Pick up Art City Days 5K Race Packet and Shirt on Wednesday, June 2 through Friday, June 4 between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Recreation Office (443 South 200 East). Race packets will also be available after hours on Friday evening, June 4th 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM at the Recreation Office.
Choose anytime on Saturday, June 5th for your run. Lace up and head out into our beautiful community.
Pick a course – Any 3.1 mile route in our amazing City of Springville that is fun and convenient for you. You can even go the distance on your treadmill!
Walk, run, or crawl (not recommended) the distance on your own, with your family, with a friend, or even with your dog! And if you are having lots of fun, you can run/walk/crawl even further if you like!
Then take a picture wearing the Art City Days Run for Fun shirt. It can be a selfie of just you or a photo with your race buddies and upload and email the photo, along with your name and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org from your race day to be entered to win some great prizes. Photos and names/numbers must be emailed by Sunday, June 6 before midnight to be entered into the prize drawing. All finishers names will be entered into a random drawing for prizes.
Winners will be posted here on June 15. Prizes can be picked up at the Rec Office beginning the week after Art City Days.
A Few Running Tips:
A virtual race can be run (or walked!) anytime and anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill. Young or old, fast or slow – we encourage participants of all ages and ability levels.
We accept results on the honor system, so you can track your distance and time however you like. The most accurate way to do this is by using a Running GPS watch, but there are also several free smartphone apps available for iPhone and Android devices.

Additional Safety Tips:
- Be aware of your surroundings. Your ears may help you avoid dangers that your eyes may miss during runs.
- Run against traffic so you can observe approaching automobiles. By facing oncoming traffic, you may be
- Look both ways before crossing. Be sure the driver of a car acknowledges your right-of-way before crossing in front of a vehicle. Obey traffic signals.
- Wear reflective material if you must run before dawn or after dark. Avoid running on the street when it is dark.
Registration is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week through the Rec1 online system. Users must create a family account and log in to register. If you have difficulties with Rec1 online registration, please call the Rec office during regular business hours at (801) 489-2730. If you forget your password, please call and it can be reset. Please do not create multiple accounts to register your participant. Most registration problems can be solved quickly over the telephone. The Recreation staff can help by phone so coming to the office isn’t necessary (unless you are paying cash or check).
Register any time 24 / 7 on Rec1 using a card. Cash and check payments for registration are accepted in-office at Springville Recreation, 443 South 200 East, during regular business hours.
