Adaptive VIP Sports
These specialized programs provide inclusive recreational opportunities to all ability levels ages 5 – 30 who have any mental and/or physical disability including Downs Syndrome, Autism, Epilepsy, genetic disorders, and players requiring the use of walkers and wheelchairs.
URBAN FISHING – Adaptive
Spring Session 3 – ADAPTIVE Session for VIP special needs people ages 6 and up – Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks from April 27th through June 1st. This session runs only 1 hour from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Held at Wayne Bartholomew Family Park, 1090 South 1900 East. Each session is limited to 25 participants. Cost is $25 per child and includes a T-shirt. Fishing tackle is provided. Must supply own fishing pole. Space is limited to 25 participants for each session. Volunteer instructors needed, see info below. Registration is open March 1st through April 2nd or until filled. Volunteers qualify for Dedicated Hunter hours with the Division of Wildlife Resources. Peer Tutor credit hours are also available for HS students assisting in the Adaptive Session. Contact Richard Thurman by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information about volunteering.

BASEBALL – Adaptive
Baseball Adaptive Program – For ages 5 to 30. Participants will play on smaller fields and with buddies. Registration 2022 is open from mid-March through April 29th. Cost is $20 per participant and includes a uniform shirt and hat. There is NO added non-resident fee for this program. All are welcome! Opening day will be on Saturday, June 5. This 6-7 game season will be held on some Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings through June with a Closing Game Day and Barbecue tentatively on Wednesday, June 30th. SOCCER – Adaptive
Soccer Adaptive Program – For ages 5 to 30. Registration 2021 is open from August 2nd through September 1st. Cost is $20 per participant and includes a uniform shirt, shorts, and socks. Late registrations are not guaranteed a uniform. There is NO added non-resident fee for this program. All are welcome! Participants will play on smaller fields and with buddies. This 6 to 7 game season will be held on Saturday mornings in September and October. Click here for Rec1 Online Registration.

*Registration is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week through the Rec1 online system. Users must create a family account and log in to register. If you have difficulties with Rec1 online registration, please call the Rec office during regular business hours at 801-489-2730. If you forget your password, please call and it can be re-set. Please do not create multiple accounts to register your participant. Most registration problems can be solved quickly over the telephone. Cash and check payments for registration are accepted in-office at Springville Recreation, 443 South 200 East, during regular business hours.
