John Hafen believed in the power of art to uplift and elevate lives and communities. Despite constant hardships, Hafen dedicated his life to his personal mission of art, faith, and beauty. He believed he was painting not only God’s nature, but nature’s God.
This is the first major retrospective of Hafen, one of Utah’s most important artists and a co-founder of the Springville Art Movement. The Springville Museum of Art would not exist without Hafen’s belief in the power of art.
