In conjunction with the exhibition, “Utah Women Making History,” Darren Parry will give a presentation titled “Stories That My Grandmother Told Me.” Parry’s grandmother is Mae Timbimboo Parry, a matriarch and historian of the Northwestern Band of Shoshone, and one of the women featured in the exhibition. She was instrumental in recording and correcting the history of the Bear River Massacre.
Darren Parry is the former Chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation. Darren serves on the Board of Directors for the American West Heritage Center, in Wellsville, Utah, the Utah State Museum Board, the Community Advisory Board for the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the American Indian Services Board and Weber State Universities National Advisory Council.
