If you live near Hobble Creek and are worried about flooding from spring run-off, you can go to the rodeo grounds at 767 W 1600 S in Springville and fill sandbags to protect your property. The bags are stored in a garbage can near the pile of sand (located to your right after the gate). You will need to bring your own shovel. If you have questions, call Public Works at 801-491-2780.
Because the weather forecast is predicting inclement weather this weekend, the Yard Waste center will open on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
The City will be conducting a State required 24-hour continuous pumping test on the new 400 South Well beginning Tuesday, November 27th through Wednesday, November 28th at 909 East 400 South. The flood irrigation turns for Plat “A” between August 25-27th have been cancelled due to the recent rain storms.
We’ve decided to keep the Yard Waste Facility open until Saturday, December 2nd, in case you still want to drop off leaves and yard clippings. We’re open from 8 am to 6 pm. The entrance to the facility is at approximately 600 West 700 North.
Water crews will be shutting off the water to approximately 75 homes on Wednesday, November 29th between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the area of Center Street, between 200-400 West, north to Hobble Creek. The compost yard will be closed on Thanksgiving, but open again on Friday and Saturday. The Yard will close for the season on November 30th.
Pressurized irrigation water will be turned off temporarily on Friday, October 20, 2017 to homes southwest of 800 South and 950 West while crews are installing new PI lines in 950 West. The weather is cool enough now that you can turn off your sprinklers and winterize your system. The City will be shutting down the entire pressurized irrigation system for the season on Friday, October 27th.
New construction will begin, Monday, August 21st on Canyon Road, between 1700 East and 2900 East. Crews will be abandoning a 16″ steel waterline, as well as removing and installing new water services, valves, hydrants, storm drain boxes, and curb, gutter and sidewalk at various locations. There will be detours and road closures throughout the project. We expect the project to take about two months to complete. Check our Construction Page for updates.
We have compost available again at the Yard Waste Facility at 600 W 700 N. The costs are $25 per cubic yard for Springville residents and $36 for non-residents. The facility is open Tuesday – Saturday, 8 am to 6 pm.
