As most of you know, the server hosting the library went down causing us to close the library except for programs and Wi-Fi use. The good news is that the server has been rebuilt, connection made with our database supplier, and we will open Wednesday, February 24th . Please be aware of some changes that may occur as we work to restore full service:
Thank you for your patience--we have missed seeing you in the library
An RFQ (request for qualifications) has been received from Utah and Arizona builders. This process insures that bidding contractors have necessary experience in building facilities of similar size and complexity. Bids will go out to qualifying contractors the end of March with a start date the end of April or beginning of May.
Demolition on the old Police, Fire Station, Yummies, and two buildings on the east side of that same block will take place in March. Excavation will remain open so the builder can take advantage of the work.
The new library will contain many of the features requested by residents--separation of children's/activity areas and adults, more computers, study areas, more light and views to the east. Architects are finishing up building specifications on inside and out and working with landscape designers to insure a harmonious connection to the new Civic Center and Fire Station. It will be an exciting process to watch our downtown area offer new services in buildings and parks.
