Springville City 2007 Candidate

Paul Wake

Thank you for your interest in the upcoming election. Please take a look at my campaign web site at www.votewake.org. Feel free to e-mail me at paul@votewake.org. I hope to receive your vote.

Springville is a wonderful town that has changed considerably in recent years as the city has grown. Effectively managing such rapid growth requires vision, since allowing unplanned growth only creates a mess. Developing a vision that works in the twenty-first century requires breaking free from entrenched ways of doing things. It requires listening to all city residents, including the many new families.

You may have noticed that the current city administration is not very responsive to citizens. This election is your chance to change that. I am running in part because it has frustrated me to see so many of my friends and neighbors shut out from having a voice in the future of our community. When you elect me, you will get a representative on the city council who will listen respectfully to you, and will either do what you want or will have the courtesy to give you a polite and honest explanation of why that isn't possible.

Many in our community have been troubled by the lack of city services, compared to what we see in nearby communities. The mayor and his council members have not been forthright about what actually can be done to develop better city services such as an adequately sized library, a recreation center, an improved pool, and better walking trails and parks. Their focus is on building new offices for themselves. I believe that we are best served by a responsive city council that knows that having so many new families in town means the city needs to move in new directions. We need more municipal services, and we need better municipal services.

If you're looking for a change, go to the polls on election day. Vote out the incumbents, and vote in three people who will move the city forward. Thank you.
