| Springville City 2009 Candidate for City Council |
|---|

Ben Jolley is a committed resident of Springville. He was raised in Utah Valley and chose Springville as the best place to raise his family. Ben is married to Macame Jolley and together they have four children: Sydni, Hailey, Gavin and Callum. He is a Public Relations professional and has worked for a number of local companies, focusing now on High-Tech PR for international companies.
Ben is a current member of the Springville City Council and has worked hard to ensure that the community’s needs are being met. He has demonstrated leadership by taking an active role in the community through his service on the city council and his association with a number of community boards that focus on the health and safety issues facing Springville families, including organizations such as the IHC South County Organization Committee, The American Red Cross, and others. He is committed to helping improve his neighborhood and the community around him.
Important topics to our community:
Green Space – We need to continue to improve existing parks and develop new parks as development occurs. When we add new open space designed for sporting activities, our existing parks—many of which currently function as soccer fields—can return to being neighborhood parks as they were designed to be.
Power Needs – We must continue to seek out new power solutions, including renewable energy resources and new technologies to help keep power rates as low as possible and meet the needs of our growing community. Keeping an eye on possible power developments and power contracts will ensure that our rates will remain stable.
Business Development – I am pleased with the growth and development that has occurred in Springville and support any new business development project that will provide the services and tax benefits our community needs and deserves.
Recreation Center – We need to raise the level of discussion about a recreation center for Springville, especially about the purpose of such a center and its ability to meet our community’s needs. A well-planned and well-thought-out recreation center will allow everyone to enjoy the benefits of community health and youth activities. Community input is crucial if we are to meet the needs of our entire city.
