Services for the Blind & Disabled
The Utah State Library offers library services for the blind & disabled. Books and magazines are available in:
- Large print
- Audio cassettes
- Audio digital books
Books and equipment are circulated through the U.S. Postal Service postage-free. The library loans equipment free of charge to its patrons, but they must order at least one book a year, or be subscribed to at least one direct mail magazine, in order to continue to borrow the equipment.
Materials may also be picked up at the Utah State Library. You may check out books and/or equipment and take them with you, or if you phone in your order in advance, materials will be prepared for you to pick-up inside the front door of the library. The loan period for books is six to eight weeks.
This program is free of charge. For more information and to use these services, visit their website at blindlibrary.utah.gov.
