September Events

After a busy summer full of lots of exciting reading programs and events for all ages, we are ready to jump into fall!
The library will be closed on Monday, Sept 3rd for Labor Day. We hope you enjoy the long weekend.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept 4th, we will return to all of our fun weekly children’s programs. If you need to check times, they are listed at the end of this post as well as on our online calendar.
Plan on attending our “Family Night with a Fire Fighter!” on Monday, September 10th. Bring the whole family at 6:30pm.
Then on Wednesday, September 12th, our friends from USU Extension’s Food $ense Program return with this great class: “Soups & Sauces-Create dozens of recipes from one healthy and $$-saving basic mix.” Their class begins at 7:00pm in our multi-purpose room. If you have come to their classes before, you know that you leave with lots of new ideas, recipes, and samples!
Tuesday, September 18th at noon brings another session of “Books & Bites” – our book club for adults. You can pick up a copy of this month’s book The Bread Givers by Anzia Yezierska at the information desk.
On Thursday, September 20th, we have two programs in the evening. Our Mother-Daughter Book Club will meet upstairs at 7:00pm for crafts, discussion, and treats. Make sure to sign up at the children’s information desk and check out a copy of The Sister’s Club. Also at 7:00pm, Margy Layton will host BYU Assoc Professor Bruce Young in “So You Want to Read Shakespeare”. Join them in our multi-purpose room for new insights and understanding of the English playwright and poet.
Friday, September 21st will be our first Teen Night for the fall. Come at 6:30pm for “Back to School Bling”. The movie will be “Freaky Friday”, and we’ll have a Super Smash Tournament.
Did you know that Captain Underpants is coming to the library? Sign your kids up for our after school program on either the 26th (grades K-2nd) or the 27th (grades 3rd-6th). Both of these programs will begin at 4:00pm.
