Wilford W. Clyde
Wilford W. Clyde is a lifelong resident of Springville. He graduated from Springville High School, where he was active in basketball, football and tennis. He served an L.D.S. mission to New Zealand after which he attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Following his graduation, Wilford began working in the family construction business, Geneva Rock Products. He is currently the President and CEO of Clyde Companies, Inc., the parent company of W.W. Clyde & Co., Geneva Rock Products, Sunroc, Gorge Rock and Beehive Insurance.
Wilford has served the community in many capacities. He has served as Chairman of the Utah Manufacturers Association, as President of the Utah Chapter of the Associated General Contractors, as a member of the BYU Construction Management Advisory Committee, as Chairman of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UVU. He currently serves on the Boards of the Utah State Employers Council, Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, and Envision Utah. He is married to the former Natalie Egbert, and they have four daughters, Camille, Melia, Alison, and Katie. All of his five grandchildren are also residents of Springville. In his limited spare time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling and boating with his family.
Wilford has always taken pride in being a resident of Springville and has always been involved in the community. He served on the city council from 1989 to 1992 and was the commissioner for girl’s softball for three years supervising 25 teams. He also coached for 10 years in the Filly and Fox softball leagues. He and his wife, Natalie, chaired the Springville Museum of Art Ball, the UVU President’s Ball and were co-presidents of the Springville Red Devil Booster Club. Although his children have now graduated from Springville High, he still enjoys attending the sporting events and other activities at the school.
Wilford is excited about the recent growth of our city but wants to keep Springville personal enough so opinions of the residents are heard and seriously considered. He wants to encourage people in our community to get involved and help keep Springville a great place to live. With the completion of a new roadway into our city he wants to promote new business to increase our tax revenue base. He also is committed to providing the very best recreational opportunities for our youth and other citizens. Wilford’s commitment to Springville is strong and unwavering.
