Sponsored by Rotary Club and Springville City Recreation. Held at Springville High School football field on the Saturday before Easter. Ages are divided into 3 groups; 1 -4, 5 -8 and 9 -12. Easter candy is spread out over the field and the kids collect in baskets. Some candy is specially marked and that is the grand prize winners. Excellent gifts are provided by donations through the Rotary Club. Contact Springville Recreation for more information, no fee required.
Hosted by Springville Recreation and sponsored by YBA(Youth Basketball Association) and the Mountain West Conference. Skill competition with dribbling and shooting within different age divisions; Boys and girls 5 th – 6 th grades and 7 th -8 th grades and 10 th -12 th grades . Winners in each divisions advance to a regional contest to compete with other area winners. The championship shootout will be held during the Mountain West Basketball Tournament. Boys and girls grades 3 rd thru 9 th are invited to participate. Elementary grades (3-6) use a field day to participate in the event scheduled through the schools and City Recreation in May. Grades 7 th – 9 th are done together on a separate day in May. Winners will practice on the city team during the summer and participate in the State meet in June. Winners from the State meet will compete in scores from Region 2 and the best scores will be invited to go to Hershey Pennsylvania in August for the National Meet. Annual girls accelerated fastpitch tournament hosted by Springville Recreation in association with ASA(Amateur Softball Association). Girls accelerated teams 12 and under, and 14 and under. Format of tournament is pool play with a double elimination tournament to follow. This is a Friday/Saturday tournament on the last weekend in May, usually Memorial Weekend. Annual road race sponsored by Nestle/Stouffers. This race is in part with Art City Days and is fun for the whole family or the serious runner. The entry fee is $15 with early registration discounts. The race starts and ends at Springville High School and is held the first Saturday in June(the weekend before Art City Days). For more information call Pat Thatcher 489-8621 ext.5328
Double elimination tournament for the celebration of Art City Days during the second week of June. Age divisions include; boys and girls 4 th -6 th grades, boys and girls juniors, boys and girls high school, men and womens open and men and womens over 30. Fee is $20 per team of 4 people. Competition through the National Football League that is held annually during the Red Devil Football camp the first week in August. Local winners in each age division compete in a regional competition to decide who gets to go to the finals during a NFL football game. Springville Recreation holds a football throwing competition the week before Thanksgiving. Boys and girls 3 rd through 12 th grade compete in different age divisions to see who throws a football accurately through a hanging tire. The winner of each division wins a turkey for the grand prize. There are many prizes to be given away for all participants. Contact Springville Recreation for more information, no fee required.
Champions Wrestling Tournament :
Annual wrestling tournament hosted by Springville Recreation in November. Open to pre-K through 9 th grade, $10 fee without league card and $8 with card. The weigh-ins are Friday night and Saturday mornings. Age and weight divisions vary, 2 match guarantee with the top 4 wrestlers in each bracket get medals. This is free to the public. Gates open at 7:00 pm. Arts Park 700 South 1300 East. Movies will start at dusk
(about 9pm.). Bring your own blankets or folding chairs. Concessions will be available. For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, NO ALCOHOL BEVERAGES OR DOGS ALLOWED.
We now have concerts in the park with the movies in the park. The Concerts start at 8pm. and then the movies start at 9pm. Here is a list of the performers.
