Springville - The Springville Museum of Art will host the 42nd Annual Art Ball on Saturday, May 3 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. Enjoy an evening of fine food, great art, entertainment and dancing! This long-held tradition celebrates the opening of the 82nd Annual Spring Salon Exhibition and the crowning of the coming year’s Art Royalty. Proceeds from the event will support the development of the new Museum sculpture garden. “We are really going to give our guests the red carpet treatment this year,” said Linda Priest, co-chair of the event. “We’re planning to sweep them away to the glamour of Hollywood.”

A light buffet by Marvellous Catering will be served from 7:00 to 9:00, followed by big band dancing from 9:00 to 11:00 with the Moonlight Serenaders. Additional entertainment throughout the evening will include a rousing performance by the Springville High School Singers and Jazz Trio. Have your photo taken by the paparazzi or participate in the costume contest by coming dressed as your favorite Hollywood star or movie character. Prizes will include signed Hollywood memorabilia.

A silent auction will include overnight stays at Marriot Hotels in Napa Valley, California, and Provo, Utah, an electric scooter donated by PepsiCo, a tooth whitening kit from Brian Trapnell Orthodontics, and an autographed photo of Charlton Heston custom framed by Beveled Edge Framing. Tickets are $25 per person in advance, and $35 per person at the door. Springville High School student and this year’s Spring Salon artists may purchase discounted tickets at the Museum.

Tickets are available at the Springville Museum of Art and online at www.smofa.org. They are also available at local area merchants, including Copies Plus Printing; Dr. Caywood, Optometrist; Gary Price Studios; Profiles; Quality Cleaners; Reams; Snelson Photocolor Lab; Springville High School, both main and finance offices; The Retreat Salon; Utah Community Credit Union in Springville; Art & Frame Wholesale in Payson; and Central Bank in Mapleton.
