Springville City Pool to Stay Open.

Springville, Utah - The Springville City Facilities and Grounds Department recently completed an analysis of all maintenance needs for Springville City facilities. The report revealed many needs for Springville’s aging facilities. Of keen interest to Springville residents was information concerning Springville’s 30 year-old indoor pool facility.

With respect to the pool, an engineering report and facility report detailed growing problems due to the age of the pool. Ventilation systems, the boiler and exterior block walls all face limited continuing life spans.

After reviewing the information, the Springville City Council expressed interest in exploring all options related to new pool facilities. In coming months, the City Council will review possible indoor and outdoor facilities. While the City Council explores these options, the existing pool facility will remain open.

City staff will continue to monitor pool function to ensure that it remains a safe and inviting place to recreate. Springville City plans to offer annual swimming lessons this summer and looks forward to continued use of the pool facility.
