CERT Training information

The next CERT classes will begin September 12 and 14. Karrie Beardall explains, we teach the same class twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We do that so if there is a conflict one night you can attend the other class and not have to miss a week’s training.

CERT is a seven-week course (eight if you would like the additional class information) that goes from 7 to 9:30 in the evenings. The cost of the class is $25 a person or $40 per couple, (couples share a manual). We have a variety of dedicated instructors that are willing to donate their time and talents to help in this worthy cause.

If you are interested in taking our next class please feel free to call me, Karrie Beardall, at work at 342-4584 or leave me a message on my cell phone, 722-9666.

I strongly encourage each individual and every family to take steps now that will help ensure their safety in the future.

Springville Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament

The Springville Area Chamber of Commerce announces the 4th annual SCHOLARSHIP Golf Tournament
September 15, 2006.
Shotgun start beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Hobble Creek Golf Course.

History: A few years ago the Springville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were getting ready to award the annual Chamber scholarship. The Chamber Board felt the scholarship program needed to expand so they decided to have a scholarship golf tournament to increase the scholarship fund. The first three tournaments were extremely successful and last year the Chamber was able to provide four $1,000 scholarships.

The Springville Area Chamber of Commerce is currently looking for major sponsors for this year’s tournament. The cost to be a sponsor is $1,000 and includes the following:
> 1) 4 man team to compete in the tournament including green fees and carts.
> (1) sponsor prize hole including a sponsor sign and $100 prize to be given away.
> Sponsor name on all advertising for the tournament
> 1/4 page ads in The Daily Herald, Springville Herald, and Spanish Fork Press running weeks leading up to the tournament.
> (4) Continental breakfasts and steak dinners at the end of the tournament
> Opportunity to provide tee bags incentives to be presented to 120 golfers.

All of the money raised from this event is used to fund scholarships given away by the Chamber during their annual installation banquet.

We would appreciate it if your company could be a part of this great event and help us to raise money for a commitment to our future here in Springville. Contact John Gleave at 491-7810 jgleave@springville.org to sign-up. Space is limited.

Sincerely,

The Springville City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
