Springville Main Street Enhancement Project Update.

Our Main Street beautification and traffic safety enhancement project is progressing as scheduled. The major funding of this project is from a Federal Transportation Enhancement grant in the amount of $500,000. Four lanes of traffic will continue through downtown. Stamped concrete crosswalks are being added at the corners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd South and 32 new street/pedestrian lights will be added from center street to 4th North. A tentative project scheduled is outlined below:

October 7th - Traffic will be opened to four lanes through the weekend.
October 10th - The center of Main Street will be coned while medians and crosswalk connections are added. Construction time is expected to be completed on October 21st
October 12th - 32 new street/pedestrian light poles will be installed. The poles are a black fluted pole, 20’ tall, with lights facing both the roadway and sidewalk. Completed installation is expected by October 21st.
October 14th - UDOT is installing an advanced traffic management system to improve the flow our traffic. Our signal poles at center, 2nd and 4th south have been painted black and new lights will be added to the top of each pole.

Many residents have asked if our Main Street will look the same as Center Street in Provo and the answer is that it will not. Springville will not have parking through the center section and we will continue to have parallel parking along the roadway. If you have questions about this project, call John Gleave at 491-7810.
