Springville Electrical Department is celebrating it’s 100 Year Anniversary. This celebration will take place September 25th to October 2, 2004 in conjunction with Public Power Week. Residents are invited to come to an Open House anytime Saturday, September 25th to view the facilities. Special groups can be accommodated by calling the Power Department. Tours are also being offered to all Springville City area schools September 29th, 30th, and October 1st. Each tour will include: a presentation to the class by Springville City Light & Power Department on power generation and electrical safety; a tour of the Whitehead Power Plant; and a chance to view the equipment that the electric department staff uses to generate and distribute power for the City of Springville. Each tour will take approximately an hour and a half. We hope residents will respond to this invitation to learn about power.
